Top Movie Scenes

When it comes to media, I'm mainly a gamer and spend a lot of time enjoying various PC games. However I do try to enjoy films every now and then. Like video games, there are parts in movies that just stick with you, that give you goosebumps whenever you what them. I've made a small list showcasing some of my favourite movie scenes. Spoilers ahead so tread lightly!

Micro Review: Psychonauts

I finally got around to playing Psychonauts. Released in 2005, it was critically acclaimed, but sold very, very poorly. Hard copies are no longer sold, but it's available via digital distribution, such as Steam. I was able to snag it during a Steam sale and have been meaning to play it even since I've heard about it. Well, if you want the short review of Psychonauts, it's awesome. It's hilarious and the gameplay is fun and you need to buy it and play it. Right now. Go, go now. Now now nownow...

My Minecraft Server

When I write about Minecraft, many of you will have no idea what I'm talking about. However, for those who pay attention to PC gaming, Minecraft is the indie hit of 2010 resulting in millions of dollars for its single creator, Notch. The game is a sandbox where you can craft and build pretty much whatever you want using materials and items from the world. I love it.

Micro Review: The Operative: No One Lives Forever

As a longtime PC gamer, I've played many games throughout my life. My wife, friends, family and enemies can all attest to that.  However sometimes I miss a few. No One Lives Forever (NOLF) was one of those gems that managed to sneak by me.

After the move - Quick Update

So me and Joanna are now settled in Digby. She's been getting ready for work, and I've been looking for work. I've also been messing around with OpenStreetMap some more and been trying to sell some stuff we don't need. We've been looking for houses, but the pickings are slim for the kind we want (BIG!). I've also finished No One Lives Forever, a classic PC game. Expect a review soon. Heading to a wedding this weekend, I hope all you Nova Scotian's are safe from Hurricane Earl.

Letter to the Editor

So I sent off a letter to the editor to The Advance. It's concerning the old rail bed in Summerville Centre and converting it to a trail. Apparently Summerville is one of the few spots in Queens that it's not cleared. This is because people don't want ATVs in their backyards. I offered a different option. I really hope they can get this done.

Goodbye Queens

It comes with great sadness to announce that me and Joanna are moving out of Queens County. Joanna got a permanent teaching position in Digby and for a new teacher this is incredible news. Not incredible is the fact that we will be leaving the wonderful South Shore. We have definitely fell in love with the area and would of loved to made this our permanent home, but we got to go where the jobs are.
